MICHEL LEGRAND’S NEW BALLET! 

WORLDWIDE OPENING NIGHT IN HAMBURG

We are very excited to announce a new aspect to the incredible talents of Michel Legrand. Michel has been working on an original score for a new “ballet legend” by the renowned choreographer John Neumeier for The Hamburg Ballet.  The piece is titled ‘Liliom’ and is based on a play by Ferenc Molnár. Commissioned by The Hamburg Ballet  and Hamburgischer Staatsoper,  the score was premiered during their 2011/2012 season. The musical piece comprises elements of classical and jazz music and was performed by the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra and the NDR Big Band.

The ballet was premiered on December 4th and 6th.
Performances were : December (2011) 10th, 19th, 20th,  January (2012) 5th and 6th  and on June (2012) 28th.
